Vascular Ultrasound and Doppler

Ultrasound is non-invasive, uses no radiation and provides real-time information about blood flow. The exact scan depends on the symptoms and the blood vessels being assessed.

A Doppler result is most useful when interpreted together with the patient’s symptoms, pulse examination, skin changes, wounds and previous procedures.

Arterial Doppler icon

Arterial Doppler Ultrasound

Assesses blood flow, narrowing and blockage in limb arteries.

Venous Doppler icon

Venous Doppler Ultrasound

Evaluates deep vein thrombosis, venous obstruction and varicose-vein reflux.

Ankle Brachial Index icon

Ankle-Brachial Index

Compares blood pressure at the ankle and arm as a screening measure for leg circulation.

Carotid Doppler icon

Carotid Doppler

Examines the neck arteries for plaque and narrowing that may affect stroke risk.

Dialysis Access Mapping icon

Dialysis Access Mapping

Maps arteries and veins before AV fistula creation and evaluates existing access.

Ct Mr Angiography icon

CT or MR Angiography

Provides detailed cross-sectional images for selected arterial, venous and aortic problems.
